WHERE THE MUSIC BEGINS
INSPIRATION
天下 can name a world to reach for, but it can also ask how a person finds a place within it. This symphonic suite moves from ambition through splendour and loss toward retreat and release. Alongside the scale of the world sits a personal question: after witnessing its grandeur, what still matters, and what can be let go?
COMPOSITION
Four movements—問鼎, 闌珊, 帰隠 and 坐忘—each contain four pieces, tracing a passage from the outward world toward the inward one. Contention, feasts and beacon fires give way to listening to pines, solitary fishing and making tea, then to freedom and shared harmony. The symphonic suite form connects these Eastern images into a sustained spiritual journey.
BEHIND THE MUSIC
The cover places ancient fortifications beside modern towers, pastoral mountains beside digital patterns, with a flute player close to the viewer. 天下 gains a perspective that crosses periods rather than belonging to only one. As civilisations and social orders change, the relationship between an individual and the wider world remains a question worth returning to.
