WHERE THE MUSIC BEGINS
INSPIRATION
The music of Tidemarks of Summer begins with wanting to spend time in this town. A train ride, a shared lunch, ramune and the walk home make its summer feel close. Mystery grows within that familiarity: when questions arise, what matters is not only the answer, but the people and places we have come to know.
COMPOSITION
The sequence travels from the open everyday world of 夏へ下る列車 and 青い夏 toward records, testimony and deduction, eventually reaching 夜明けのあと. That movement—from brightness into unease and toward morning—gives the collection its emotional shape. The warmth of ordinary life and the tension of asking questions remain closely connected.
BEHIND THE MUSIC
The seaside station, the sunset, the tracks and five people gathered together place a meeting inside a passing moment. The cover holds the kind of summer memory this work reaches for: remembering a place also means remembering the people who once shared it with you.
